Lehigh University, Rennselaer, Bucknell, Trinity, Tufts, Lafayette College?
I’m from the west coast and I’m going to be applying to colleges on the east, I’ll probably only end up visiting only one or two of these.
I was wondering if any of you go to these schools or have visited them/visited the cities they are in?
I know all these schools are pretty good academically but the main thing I’m wondering is what these campuses are like? Is there always something to do? Weather? Are there things to do around the surrounding cities? Movie theaters (I know that some colleges don’t have movie theaters too close)? How active is the school community, Greek life, clubs, etc…?
I want to make sure that if I decide to go to one of these colleges, that I don’t end up getting BORED. I want to know that if I want to take a break from school that there’s always something to do!
Lehigh – Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
Bucknell – Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
Trinity – Hartford, Connecticut
Tufts – Medford, Massachusetts
Lafayette – Easton, Pennsylvania
Rensselaer – Troy, New York
If any of you have ANY information at ALL, I’d really appreciate it. Even if you have never heard of these colleges but know of the cities themselves, that’d still be a great help to me.
Thanks!

i visited lehigh last year in the spring. the campus itself is beautiful but the town of bethlehem is somewhat dull. there is a lot to do on campus because activities are held often for students but there isnt a major city too close. Philly is about an hour away from lehigh which isnt that bad.
tufts is extremely close to boston. no explanation needed. boston is an amazing college town because there are so many schools there and the city is full of things to do.
rensselaer is near albany, which has its nightlife but i dont think rpi is that close to the actual town of albany.

I went to Lafayette and still live in Easton. It’s not a big city but it’s located 90 minutes from both New York City and Philadelphia, which is a big plus. There’s a student-run movie theater on campus and regular entertainment events, e.g. comedians, singers, plus a Greek system and many, many active student groups. There’s a minor league baseball team, a casino, and other options within short driving distance.
